Warehouse Insight connects handheld barcode scanners and mobile terminals directly to Business Central, so receiving, picking, put-aways and stock counts update the system the moment they happen — not at the end of the shift. It’s listed on Microsoft AppSource as Warehouse Insight Advanced WMS, and it’s the app most of our warehouse clients start with.
Because it runs on standard Android devices and industry-standard scanners, most sites can get started without buying new hardware.
- Real-time stock updates for receiving, picking, put-aways and counts
- Works with your existing Android devices and barcode scanners
- Direct, two-way connection with Business Central
- Add-on catalogue and app designer for tailoring workflows without custom code
One scan for a whole pallet, not one scan per item
Licence Plating groups mixed items, lots and serial numbers under a single licence plate number, so a whole pallet, box or container can be picked, moved or shipped with one scan instead of dozens. It’s an add-on for Warehouse Insight, so Warehouse Insight needs to be in place first.
Barcodes for licence plates print directly from the handheld device or the licence plate list, so there’s no separate labelling step slowing things down.
- Unique licence plate numbers for pallets, boxes or containers
- Mixed items and mixed lot or serial numbers tracked under one plate
- One scan per transaction instead of scanning every item
- Barcode printing straight from handheld devices
Stock counts that don’t take the warehouse offline for a day
A full stock count usually means one person walking the warehouse with a clipboard while everyone else waits. Advanced Inventory Count lets several people count different areas at once, straight into Business Central, with count sheets built around how your warehouse is actually laid out rather than a generic template.
Lot and serial number discrepancies get flagged and reconciled automatically instead of by hand, and every count keeps a discrepancy report and history behind it, so if a recount is needed you know exactly what changed and why.
It works alongside barcode scanning for speed, but doesn’t require it — useful for sites part-way through moving to barcoded stock.
Is this the right fit for your warehouse?
Do I need new hardware to use Warehouse Insight?
No. Warehouse Insight runs on standard Android devices and industry-standard barcode scanners, so most sites can start with the handhelds already on the warehouse floor.
Can I add Licence Plating later, or do I need it from day one?
Licence Plating is an add-on to Warehouse Insight rather than a standalone app, so Warehouse Insight has to be in place first. Most sites start with Warehouse Insight alone and add Licence Plating once mixed-pallet tracking becomes the next bottleneck.
Does Advanced Inventory Count need barcode scanning to work?
No. It works alongside barcode scanning for speed, but manual count entry works too, which is useful for sites part-way through moving to barcoded stock.
Does this work with Business Central Cloud and on-premises?
Yes, all three apps — Warehouse Insight, Licence Plating and Advanced Inventory Count — support both Business Central Cloud and Business Central On-Premises.
Can more than one person count stock at the same time?
Yes. Advanced Inventory Count supports multiple users entering counts simultaneously, so different areas of the warehouse can be counted in parallel instead of one person working through the whole site.
How does mixed-item tracking work with Licence Plating?
Licence Plating groups mixed items and mixed lot or serial numbers under a single licence plate number, so a pallet with several different products on it can still be picked, moved or shipped with one scan.
Who normally uses these apps day to day?
Warehouse managers, inventory staff, order pickers, shippers and receivers, and warehouse supervisors are the most common day-to-day users, alongside quality control and supply chain staff who rely on the data these apps feed into Business Central.
Built to fit around your warehouse, not the other way round
Warehouse management for Dynamics Business Central doesn’t need to mean new hardware or ripping up how the warehouse already works. Between them, these three apps cover barcode scanning, mixed-pallet tracking and stock counting inside Business Central. You don’t need all three from day one — most sites start with Warehouse Insight and add Licence Plating or Advanced Inventory Count once it’s clear where the next bottleneck is.
-
Fewer scans, fewer mistakes
Licence Plating turns a full pallet into one scan instead of scanning every item on it, so picking and despatch errors drop along with the time it takes.
-
Stock counts without shutting the floor
Advanced Inventory Count lets several people count different areas at the same time, so a full count doesn’t mean a full day of downtime.
-
No new hardware to buy
Warehouse Insight runs on standard Android devices and industry-standard barcode scanners, so most sites can get started with what’s already on the warehouse floor.
-
Nothing re-keyed into Business Central
Every scan and count writes straight into Business Central in real time, so there’s no export, spreadsheet or overnight sync to wait on.
-
Add on as you need to
Licence Plating and Advanced Inventory Count sit on top of Warehouse Insight, so the setup can grow in step with the warehouse rather than being bought as one large project upfront.
